‘Tis the season to eat cookies all day, everyday. Every year, my mom has an entire day dedicated to baking cookies. She bakes for about twelve hours straight. And she loves it! She then creates platters of cookies for friends and family. And they love her!
My mom makes just about every cookie you can think of. But my favorite are her Neiman Marcus cookies. Here is the recipe:
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 cups oatmeal
1 tsp baking powder
4 oz grated chocolate
12 oz chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecans
Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda. Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar (chopped in food processor), and nuts. Roll into balls and place two inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Yum! Seriously my favorite cookies. For the adorable decor for the cookies, I went to Anthropologie. Obviously.
Parisian Holiday Dessert Plate by Nathalie Lete Anthropologie, $14
I couldn’t find the bowls on Anthropologie’s website. But they retailed for $10, I believe.
And what is Christmas season without an ugly sweater??
I got this gem from a store called Value Village about 8 years ago, which was the beginning of the Ugly Sweater Party phenomenon. And I think I paid $4 for it. Talk about a steal. This year, I decided to add a big bow on top of ,y head
I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday season so far!
