12 Days of Holiday: Pecan Praline Crunch

It’s that time of year again. The panic sets in and you need a gift, fast! Well, I have the perfect solution: Food! Day 7 of my 12 Days of Holiday is all about spreading cheer with some easy and yummy gifts, that everyone will love!

This pecan praline crunch was a huge hit at work today. I made several batches of this. I put the snack in cute holiday bags and gave out about 30. I often bring in treats for my co-workers and have found that they always want the recipe. I was one step ahead of them, and included the recipe 🙂

Pecan Praline Crunch

1 box (16 oz) Quaker Oat Squares Cereal

2 cups pecan pieces

½ cup light corn syrup

½ cup firmly packed brown sugar

¼ cup margarine

1 teaspoon vanilla

½ teaspoon baking soda

Heat oven to 250 degrees

Combine cereal and pecan pieces in 13×9 pan

Combine syrup, brown sugar, and margarine in 2-cup microwavable bowl. Microwave at high 1 ½ minutes. Stir. Microwave at high ½ – 1 ½ minutes more or until boiling. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour over cereal mixture and stir evenly to coat.

Bake 1 hour stirring every 20 minutes. Spread onto baking sheet to cool. Break into pieces. Enjoy!

***Warning! This snack is highly addicting and you may eat an entire batch in one sitting***

I also picked up this cute little set of ornaments from Free People. I gave all 6 out to different co-workers. They were also a hit! Because come on, everyone loves a sparkley ornament! I couldn’t find them on their website, but I am linking similar ornaments here.

Happy Wednesday!
