Well, hello! I have been a little MIA lately. I decided to give up Instagram for Lent. And I must say, it was quite lovely. In addition to giving up Instagram for Lent, I also decided to take a little break from blogging. I really wanted to focus on just living life. Did you know that the average person looks at their phone almost 50 times a day? Think about how much you are missing out on by looking at your phone. My social media cleanse was a real wake up call to me. So what did I learn? I learned that it really isn’t necessary to check social media (or your phone) constantly. I mean, how many photos of people’s food, shoes, weddings, babies, political opinions, etc. do you really need to see on a daily basis? And do you really even care? Rather than looking at the same old thing in various shapes and forms over and over, I decided to live in the moment. I actually ate my food without sharing it with the world. You know what? It tasted better. I was present in conversations with friends and family because my face wasn’t glued to my phone. I went to concerts and actually watched the band play rather than Snapping videos the entire night. I enjoyed so many things more without my phone. And guess what? My battery lasted longer, my hands weren’t nearly as sore, and I slept better. I challenge you all to live in the moment! Enjoy it.
Ok, ok. I am off my soapbox 🙂 Back to clothes! I couldn’t think of a better dress to kick of my return to blogging than this colorful dress from Free People. It makes me feel like a gypsy. But not a tramp or a thief (hello, Cher!).
This dress is lightweight and very roomy. So feel free to eat a large lunch or dinner (or both) in this dress. No one will ever know! I am currently planning a trip to New Orleans and this dress will be making an appearance. It has New Orleans written all over it!
Dress: Home Sweet Home Dress, Free People $228
Bralette: Aerie Racerback Boho Bralette, American Eagle $26.95
I hope you all have a great holiday weekend!
